Object history
Deutsch: Mit Genehmigung der Bezirksregierung Trier vom 29. April 1971 erhielt die Gemeinde Altrich das Recht, ein eigenes Wappen zu führen. Das Andreaskreuz in der vorderen Schildhälfte steht als Symbol für den im alten Gerichtssiegel, überliefert im Jahre 1764, dargestellten Kirchenpatron Sankt Andreas. Die hintere Schildhälfte erinnert an ein nach Altrich benanntes Rittergeschlecht, das im 14. Jahrhundert nachweisbar ist. Die Farben Rot und Weiß weisen auf die ehemalige Zugehörigkeit zum Kurfürstentum Trier hin.
