Description
English: Does not refer to the Revelations, but an event in the life of the saint. The Roman emperor Domitian sitting on his throne on the left. According to legend, John was sentenced to be boiled in a cauldron of oil for his refusal to worship pagan gods. He remained unharmed by this ordeal and was set free.
