English: The top of the piston has a thin metal reed valve. The elongated end of the connecting rod pushes open the reed valve when the crankpin tilts the rod on the exhaust stroke. The reed valve is closed when the connecting rod is vertical at TDC and BDC and tilted the other direction during the expansion stroke |
