Summary

Description
English: A U.S. Air Force Douglas A-1E Skyraider (s/n 52-132649) after it crash-landed near Can Tho, South Vietnam, on 21 March 1965 due to battle damage. Both crewmen were killed. The wreck was recovered and returned to service. A year later, this was the aircraft flown by Maj Bernard Fisher on 10 March 1966 when he rescued a fellow pilot shot down over South Vietnam, a deed for which he was awarded the Medal of Honor. The airplane, severely damaged in further combat in South Vietnam, came to the National Museum of the United States Air Force in 1968 for preservation and was restored.
