English: An anonymous 16th century Portuguese watercolour from the Códice Casanatense, depicting the nomadic inhabitants of southern Africa, dubbed by the Portuguese "cafres", from the Arabic "kaffirs" (meaning "non-believer"). The inscription reads: "Cafres of the Cape of Good Hope"
