  • Jayvee Enaguas (The Harvett Vault) and Racconish reviewed the copyright for the animated short film in April 2020, which includes most materials and elements.
    • A copyright notice seems present, which reads:
Copyright MCMXLII by The Vitaphone Corp. All rights reserved.
    • Vitaphone didn't file an entry for the animated short film as published in the original print between 1942 and 1943 and later in the current Blue Ribbon reissue print between 1946 and 1947 (1, 2).
    • United Artists Television, who acquired Associated Artists Productions for their library containing pre-August 1948 titles produced by Warner Bros. Cartoons, didn't renew an entry for the animated short film from the original copyright holder within the required 28-year period between 1969 (1, 2) and 1970 (1, 2).
    • After the failure of copyright renewal, the animated film automatically entered the public domain on the first day of January 1971 and is freely available and distributable in both physical and digital formats.
  • The opening, title, and closing card sequences in the original print have been altered and scrapped in favor of the current Blue Ribbon reissue print, which is missing or lost nowadays because of wiping.
