Summary

Description
English: Experimentally accurate 3D model of hydrated chromium(II) chloride. Gray balls represent chromium atoms, red balls are oxygen, and green balls are chlorine. Hydrogen atoms omitted for clarity. The distorted octahedral complex contains two trans 2.074 angstrom Cr-O bonds and two trans 2.081 angstrom Cr-O bonds. The Cr-Cl bond length is 2.758 angstrom. See Von Schnering, H. G., and B‐H. Brand. "Struktur und Eigenschaften des blauen Chrom (II)‐chlorid‐tetrahydrats CrCl2. 4H2O."
