Notes The title "ritratto di Carlo II di Savoia" (Portrait of Charles II of Savoy) is due to the fact that Charles John Amadeus (1489–1496, not portrayed here) reigned as Duke of Savoy entirely under regency and died as a child. Therefore Charles John Amadeus's regnal name "Charles II" is often attributed to his first cousin once removed who reigned some time after him, Charles III (1486–1553)
