English: The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour (Russian: Храм Христа Спасителя, Khram Khrista Spasitelya) is a cathedral in Moscow, Russia, on the northern bank of the Moskva River, a few blocks southwest of the Kremlin. With an overall height of 103 metres (338 ft), it is the tallest Orthodox Christian church in the world. Deutsch: Die Christ-Erlöser-Kathedrale (russisch Храм Христа́ Спаси́теля / wiss. Transliteration Chram Christa Spasitelja) ist eine Kathedrale in der russischen Hauptstadt Moskau. Sie gilt als das zentrale Gotteshaus der Russisch-Orthodoxen Kirche und gehört mit 103 Metern zu den höchsten orthodoxen Sakralbauten weltweit. Die am linken Ufer der Moskwa westlich des Kremls stehende Kathedrale wurde ursprünglich 1883 erbaut, während der Stalin-Herrschaft 1931 zerstört und im Jahr 2000 originalgetreu wiedererrichtet. |
