Español: "El Cristo del Perdón", obra del maestro Francisco Antonio Cano, exhibida en la Catedral Metropolitana de Medellín. El Cristo del perdón, fue uno de los trabajos que más le costó tiempo y dinero al artista por sus proporciones (un óleo sobre lienzo de tres metros de altura), y por las vicisitudes económicas que enfrentó para elaborarlo, le demoró 10 años. En 1910 logró terminarlo en su totalidad gracias a la donación de una colecta pública que se hizo en Medellín para la época, y en agradecimiento a esto el artista donó el cuadro a la ciudad. El nombre: El Cristo del Perdón, se debe a que antes de pasar definitivamente a la nueva Catedral de Medellín, estuvo localizado al lado de la puerta del perdón de la Iglesia de La Candelaria que en ese momento era el templo catedralicio. Public domain This file is in the public domain because the copyright of this work, registered in Colombia, has expired, according to “Law 23 of 1982 on Copyright, Articles 11, 21-29”, amended by “Law 44 of 1993, Article 2” and “Law 1520 of 2012, Articles 4, 6 and 10” (details). However, some restrictions have to be addressed:

  • The author and the work source must be acknowledged when reused in Colombia, except if the author is unknown.

You must also include a United States public domain tag to indicate why this work is in the public domain in the United States. Note that a few countries have copyright terms longer than 80 years: Mexico has 100 years and Jamaica has 95 years. This image may not be in the public domain in these countries, which moreover do not implement the rule of the shorter term.
