Description
English: Castrop Rauxel Square The city has been twinned with Castrop Rauxel, (after which the Square is named), a former mining city in the Rhur region of Germany, since 1949. Wakefield currently has 8 Twin Towns:- Castrop-Rauxel, nearby Herne and Alfeld, all in Germany, Belgorod in Russia, Konin in Poland, Castres, and Hénin-Beaumont , both in France, and finally, Girona in Spain.
