Summary

Description
English: Caroline Park House In 1683 Sir George MacKenzie of Tarbat bought Royston estate and house originally built in 1585, he considerably altered it.In 1739 it was sold to the second Duke of Argyll who renamed it Caroline after his daughter,Countess of Dalkeith.He employed William Adam to make further changes to the house.

Amongst much else of interest in the State Drawing Room is a small hinged pane in a window - a 'wig window', where gentlemen could shake the powder from their wigs. The only one I have seen or have knowledge of.
