Summary

Description
English: Car Guards - usually self-appointed and often invisibilized - occupy a key sector of work that is considered to be "informal" in South Africa. Used in nationalist advertisements and scoffed at as 'opportunists', they spend hours - in the sun, on rainy days, in the evening, and at the break of dawn - guarding our cars as we shop, eat, and be merry within our various privileges.
