Summary

Description
English: Capstone of Trewalter burial chamber The historian Richard Fenton writing in 1810 described this stone as measuring 14 feet by 8 feet, and supported on four massive stones 2/3 feet high. The intact monument must have been an impressive sight. One upright survives and there could be others underneath but time, and (one suspects) farmers, have not served this grave well. The capstone, which is deeply pocked and pitted, supports a thick matting of stonecrop.
