Fair use in Candlebox (album)[edit]

This is an image of the cover of an audio recording. Although this image is subject to copyright, its use is covered by the U.S. fair use laws and complies with Wikipedia's non-free content criteria because:

• The image is being used as the primary means of visual identification of the subject or topic;
• No free equivalent is available or could be created that would clearly distinguish this particular work from similar works by the same or other artists;
• The use of the image does not limit the copyright owners' rights to distribute the CD/Album/Music in any way;
• The image is a low resolution copy; and
• Other digital captures of the cover are available outside of Wikipedia;

Derived from a digital capture of an album/CD cover. Creator of this digital version is unknown, however it is irrelevant as the copyright of all equivalent images is still held by the original party. I modified the original digital capture by lowering the resolution to comply with U.S. fair use laws and Wikipedia's non-free content criteria.

This image is of a cover of an audio recording, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by either the publisher of the work or the artist(s) which produced the recording or cover artwork in question. It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of such covers solely to illustrate the audio recording in question, on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation, qualifies as fair use under the copyright law of the United States.
