| Description |
English: Model of a structure designed to retain river ice upstream of a historical choke point on the Cazenovia Creek, a tributary of the Buffalo River in New York State, that was the cause of ice dams during river thaws. The model validated a design that was built at the site. The model was built in the Ice Engineering Facility of the Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Français : Modèle d'une estacade crée pour retenir la dérive des glaces en amont d'un point de rétrécissement historique du Cazenovia Creek, un petit affluent du Buffalo River de l'État de New York, qui provoquait des embâcles en période de dégel des rivières (débâcle).
