English: 1748; THE LORD FAMILY CAME TO CONNECTICUT IN 1637 AND HELPED FOUND BOTH THE HARTFORD AND SAYBROOK COLONIES; CAPTAIN ENOCH LORD WAS THE GREAT GRANDSON OF WILLIAM LORD, THE ORIGINAL SETTLER. THE HOUSE IS ALSO KNOWN AS THE RED HOUSE. THE HOUSE OVERLOOKS THE CONNECTICUT RIVER
