Staatsakt für Oberstleutnant Lent.
In einem feierlichen Staatsakt, den der Führer angeordnet hatte, nahm das deutsche Volk Abschied von dem erfolgreichsten Nachtjäger unserer Luftwaffe, Oberstleutnant Helmut Lent, Kommodore eines Nachtjagdgeschwaders und Träger des Eichenlaubs mit Schwertern und Brillanten zum Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes. In einer von tiefem Mitempfinden getragenen Ansprache würdigte als Beauftragter des Führeres Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring die Persönlichkeit und das Heldentum dieses Pioniers auf dem Gebiete der deutschen Nachtjagd und legte an der Bahre den Kranz des Führers nieder.

Luftwaffe Commander in Chief Hermann Goring giving a speech at the funeral of Night fighter ace Lieutenant Colonel Helmut Lent, winner of the Oak Leaves with Swords and Diamonds to the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. Goring, in a speech of great sympathy, praised Lent as a pioneer.
