For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Zentralbild-Mellahn Frö-Noa 3.6.1959 Eisbrecher "Krassin" auf Probefahrt. Einer der größten Eisbrecher der Welt, die "Krassin", die durch ihre erfolgreichen Polarfahrten und durch die Rettung der Überlebenden der Nobile-Luftschiff-Polarexpedition im Jahre 1928 berühmt geworden ist, hat jetzt nach Umbauarbeiten die Wismarer Werft zu einer 14-tägigen Funktionsprobefahrt verlassen. Das 10 000 Tonnen große Schiff soll im Juli dieses Jahres an den sowjetischen Auftraggeber ausgeliefert und dann gemeinsam mit dem Atomeisbrecher "Lenin" auf große Fahrt gehen. Die Wismarer Wertarbeiter haben nach entsprechenden Projekten das Schiff nach den neuesten wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen durchgehend modernisiert. Die "Krassin"verfügt über eine Motorleistung v. 10 500 PS. UBz: Die "Krassin" vor dem Auslaufen zur Funktionsprobefahrt am Kai der Wismarer Werft." |
