For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Zentralbild-Schmidtke Me-Qu. 22.3.52. Erster Fussgängerschutzweg in Berlin. Die Berliner Verkehrspolizei hat in Niederschöneweide zur Sicherung des Fussgängerverkehrs eine Neuerung geschaffen. Über den Fahrdamm führt ein "Fussgängerschutzweg", auf dem die Fussgänger das Vorrecht haben. Der Schutzweg ist kenntlich durch je zwei parallel laufende weisse Streifen quer zur Fahrbahn und durch rot-weisse Leuchtpfeile mit der Aufschrift "Fussgänger". Die dort gesammelten Erfahrungen sollen richtungsgebend sein für die Errichtung weiterer derartiger Anlagen in anderen verkehrsreichen Strassen. UBz: Der erste Fussgängerschutzweg vor dem Ausgang des S-Bahnhofs Schönweide, vor dem sich leider bisher viele Verkehrsunfälle ereigneten. |
