Description
English: Berlin Friedrichstraße station: the prospective train shed; view east towards Friedrichstraße. The engraving is a copy, enlivened with staffage figures, of the original architectural drawing published 1885. The name of the station, Friedrichstrasse, was originally displayed on the West- and East-façade but the inscription had been removed by 1898, provided the photograph of the East-façade by Titzenthaler is dated correctly. Seen from the inside of the hall the writing would appear not as shown in the engraving but in mirror writing.
