DescriptionBridgend railway station footbridge - geograph.org.uk - 3385129.jpg
English: Bridgend railway station footbridge.
Viewed from platform 3.
Opened in 2012, the new footbridge can be accessed via lifts or stairs. The £2.4 million improvement project was part of the national Access for All scheme, backed by the Department for Transport, that aims to provide step-free access to about 145 railway stations in England, Scotland and Wales.
The new footbridge and two lifts were designed to provide passengers with a safe and secure environment. They are well-lit and equipped with telephones and CCTV monitoring.
