Summary

Description

The Southern Cape ER24 team have been proud to manage this world class event from the medical side for the past 6 years with huge success. The medical side of the event has been rated, according to Clint Redhead from SA rugby, in top place, and has gone from strength to strength!

During this very famous and popular event, the ER24 team had the opportunity to meet a lot of personalities that are the icons for SA rugby today.

The George Sevens is a weekend of international rugby sevens at the Outeniqua Park Stadium in George, South Africa. The second leg of the IRB Sevens World Series is famous for its warm, friendly, and intimate atmosphere.

16 international sides

The weekend long tournament plays host to 16 international sides and is widely regarded as the most beautiful stop of the IRB Sevens World Series. The stadium is located with the Indian Ocean on one side and the spectacular Outeniqua Mountain range on the other.

The George Sevens had its 10 year anniversary at Outentiqua Park in 2008, over the years the stadium has seen some spectacular sevens. The 2009 final saw New Zealand beat Fiji in a game that was slow to start but finished in pulsating fashion.

Below is feedback received from Mr Steven Roos, Director of the George Sevens Tournament with regards to ER24's contribution.

Although we started early this year with our planning for the SA Sevens in George and all the meetings we had, we could not wait for the tournament to start on Friday and within two days everything was over and everyone just disappeared. We did not even have a chance to say Thank You and Good Bye.

Firstly, I want to thank every person who was involved with the arrangements of this past Sevens Tournament for their contribution, hard work and support.

Everything went well and the reports received from the IRB, SA Rugby Union and teams, all said this year’s SA Sevens Tournament in George was the best tournament ever! The tournament was a great success and without your vital contribution, we would not have been able to achieve this great result. Please convey our sincere thanks to all your staff members and helpers for their contribution.

Secondly, I want to wish you all an enjoyable festive season and a prosperous 2011!

Once again a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you.
