Summary

Description
English: Bloomsbury: Doughty Street, WC1 The properties on Doughty Street are late Georgian townhouses, some of which were converted to commercial use by legal practices and literary groups in the 1900s. Subsequently they have become much sought after for residential use and a number have been returned to their original purpose. The author Charles Dickens briefly lived at 48 Doughty Street 398448, (on the left side here, about where the white van is), between 1837 and 1839. The house is the only surviving property in London where Dickens lived and has been the Dickens Museum http://www.dickensmuseum.com/ since 1925. This view was taken looking across Guilford Street.
