Summary

Description A Messerschmitt Bf 109E-3 at Wright Field, Ohio (USA) on 14 May 1942. This aircraft had been captured by the French in September 1939. It was taken to the flight test center at Bricy near Orleans. After the conclusion of the tests it was sent to the RAF Aeroplane & Armament Experimental Establishment, RAF Boscombe Down, Wiltshire (UK). Designated "AE479", it arrived at Boscombe Down on 3 May 1940. In 1942 it was tested by the USAAF.
