Summary

Description
English: Beacon tower in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia - Originally 7 metres high it was extended to 20 metres in 1877 after the light had been obscured by the erection of a Wesley Parsonage. National Trust - Lantern from original tower at the top. Many years ago public could ascend to top of tower to admire view but doorway has since been blocked up.
