Description

"Bayon Sacra (Luisiana) (Bayou Sacra, Louisiana). Shows town on Mississippi River, 1840s, with flatboat in the river in the foreground; on the boat is are several men, one with a violin, one dancing.

Notes: Lithograph probably based on drawings Lewis made on the Mississippi River c. 1846-1848. Location "Bayou Sacra" is probably town of "Bayou Sara" in West Feliciana Parish; St. Francisville on bluff in background.
