English: Thomas Jones Barker, The Intellect and Valour of Britain, engraving of 1864 by Charles George Lewis. Large group portrait of an imagined assembly of Britain's finest statesmen and military leaders, industrialists and inventors, and other eminent figures of the day, including Michael Faraday, Sir William Armstrong, the pioneering paleontologist Richard Owen, Sir David Brewster demonstrating his lenticular stereoscope, as well as Gladstone, Disraeli, Dickens, Tennyson, Thackeray, Livingstone, Cobden and many others. Engraving is 725 x 1070mm., published in Leggatt Bros. and John Garle Browne (owner of the original painting).
