English: Ballybeg Priory The priory was founded in 1229 by Philip de Barry for the Canons Regular of St Augustine, and dedicated to St Thomas. The complex consisted of a central cloister or courtyard surrounding the now ruined church building. Near the church and in the foreground of this photo is one of the finest dovecotes in Ireland. |
