According to Andrew Martin in his history of the London Underground, Baker Street is the "...grandest survivor of the original Metropolitan [Railway]". Built as long ago as 1863 (this year is the 150th anniversary of the tube, as marked on the train doors in the photo), it has a little more character than some of the more recent stations.
