Description
English: Badge of the New Zealand Herald of Arms Extraordinary, a special herald extraordinary of the College of Arms in New Zealand. Assigned on the 12 June 1979. The badge alludes to the three main duties of a herald: heraldic and armorial; ceremonial (the Koru is used as a decoration for important Maori ceremonies); and genealogical (the loops and coils of the Koru represent the complex Maori genealogy tree or Whakappa).
Blazon: A complex Maori Koru coloured in the traditional manner proper ensigned by a representation of the Royal Crown also Proper.
