Summary

Description
English: This is a 1,000lb Mark 26 mine dropped by a 313th Bomb Wing B-29 in 1945. B-29s typically dropped these mines from 4,000-8,000ft at night, dropping one or more mines at certain intervals in a specific spot to create a minefield. Each B-29 had to do its part, and these mining missions took a lot of skill from the navigator and bombardier.
