  • English: The illustration shows the typical use case for epipolar geometry. Two cameras take a picture of the same scenery from different points of view. The epipolar geometrie then describes the relation between the two resulting views.
  • Deutsch: Die Abbildung illustriert den Anwendungsfall der Epipolargeometrie. Zwei Kameras nehmen ein Objekt von unterschiedlichen Standpunkten auf. Die Epipolargeometrie beschreibt die geometrischen Beziehungen zwischen den beiden resultierenden Kamerabildern. Mit ihrer Hilfe lässt sich die Abhängigkeit zwischen korrespondierenden Bildpunkten — also den Punkten, die ein einzelner Objektpunkt in den beiden Kamerabildern erzeugt — beschreiben.
