Description
English: At the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York

View of Oyster Bay. New York City, 1908. Leaded Favrile glass. Louis C. Tiffany (1848-1933).

Despite the name given to this piece, inspired by Tiffany's Oyster Bay view, the wisterias here, selected by Belle Skinner are a callback to the Skinner silk family's estate Wistariahurst, in Holyoke, Massachusetts. The piece was commissioned by William Skinner, Belle's father, originally for their townhouse at 36 E. 38th Street, New York, NY.[1]
