Deutsch: Das Schloss Johannisburg in Aschaffenburg diente bis 1803 als zweite Residenz der Mainzer Kurfürsten und Erzbischöfe. Es wurde in der Zeit von 1605 bis 1614 vom Straßburger Baumeister Georg Ridinger aus Rotsandstein gebaut. Die Anlage besteht aus vier großen Flügeln mit je drei Geschossen. In jeder Ecke befindet sich ein Treppenturm. Das Schloss dominiert bis heute das Bild der Stadt Aschaffenburg und gilt als ihre größte Sehenswürdigkeit. Ein Aschaffenburger Heimatdichter sagte einmal: „Die Stadt ist ihr Schloss.“

English: Schloss Johannisburg is a castle in Aschaffenburg, Germany, that was erected between 1605 and 1614 by Georg Ridinger. Until 1803, it was the second residence of the prince bishop of Mainz. It is constructed of red sandstone, the typical building material of the area around Aschaffenburg.
