Description
English: Arms of Suckling of Woodton, Norfolk, seat since 1348: Per pale gules and azure, three bucks trippant or (Burke, General Armory, 1884). Also of Barsham, Suffolk. See history of Barsham and Suckling pedigree in: Alfred Suckling, 'Barsham', in The History and Antiquities of the County of Suffolk: Volume 1 (Ipswich, 1846), pp. 35-46[1]. For several images of the Suckling arms see monuments in All Saints Church, Woodton, and on stained glass in Barsham Church, Suffolk, commissioned to celebrate the centenary of the Battle of Trafalgar (1805) (Admiral Nelson's mother was Catherine Suckling)[2]
