Summary

Description
English: Natural-colour image of Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Thick white lines delineate refuge boundaries, and thin white lines separate areas within the park. Running roughly east west, the rugged Brooks Range spans the middle part of the park. North of the Brooks Range lies tundra, and south of the range lies forest dominated by spruce trees.

Image captured by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA’s Aqua satellite. data obtained from the Goddard Level 1 and Atmospheric Archive and Distribution System (LAADS) and boundary information from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Geospatial Services.
