Summary

Description
English: Apedale Valley Light Railway - blue Simplex.

This railway is a preserved industrial narrow gauge railway collection operated by the Moseley Railway Trust. Although not open, it was gearing up for the new season and the three of us were made most welcome.

The locomotive was built by Motor Rail Ltd as No. 8663 of 1941 and is a 4WDM, 20/28HP Simplex with a Dorman two cylinder diesel. It was ordered by the War Office and stored until the 1970s when it passed to Z & W Wade, contractors based in Whaley Bridge.
