Español: La escena representa la milagrosa aparición de la Virgen María al fraile sacristán de la iglesia del convento dominico construido en 1510 en Soriano (Calabria, Italia), para entregarle la imagen pintada de Santo Domingo de Guzmán, fundador de la Orden de los dominicos, en la noche del 15 de septiembre de 1530. La Virgen, acompañada y atendida por María Magdalena y santa Catalina, le obsequió el lienzo que convirtió al convento dominico de Soriano en un centro de peregrinaje.
