Description Südansicht von Rapperswil im Jahr 1879 nach dem Abbruch der historischen Seebrücke und während des Baus des Seedamms, im Hintergrund der Lindenhof. Fotografie von Frau Alwina Gossauer, Rapperswil, Druck von Gebr. Benziger, Einsiedeln, als frühes Beispiel einer im Druck erschienen Fotografie ... ergänzt mit zeichnerischen Elementen: Schiffe, Wellen und Gras im Vordergrund, Seedamm mit Dampfeisenbahn, Kutschen und Fussgänger. Das Bild wurde [für Xaver Rickenmanns Buch "Geschichte der Stadt Rapperswil"] vordatiert, weil 1878 der Damm noch im Bau war.
