Español: Andrés Almonaster y Rojas
English: Andrés Almonester (sometimes given as "Almonaster") formal painted portrait, New Orleans, 1796. Almonester is shown with his ceremonial walking stick as Regidor of the Cabildo, sword designating rank of Colonel, and insignia of knighthood in the Order of Charles III. His family crest is at lower left; a list of his accomplishments in Spanish Colonial New Orleans is at lower right. The pose conceals his hand disfigured by injury some years before.
