Summary

Description
English: Bishop's throne, All Saints' Church, Dale Abbey, Derbyshire. As the Premonstratensian abbey had not been subject to the local bishop, the church became a peculiar jurisdiction after the dissolution and the lord of the manor, as its chief officer, was recognised as the lay bishop of Dale Abbey.
