Español: El lienzo muestra al rey Alfonso XII de España (1857-1885), visitando el Hospital de Coléricos de Aranjuez en 1885, ya que el monarca convirtió la Casa de Marinos en un improvisado hospital para atender a la población, a la que visitó, despertando además la admiración popular por su valentía. Este hecho se recuerda con una estatua en honor a este monarca colocada en la Plaza de la Constitución de Aranjuez.
