This image is a faithful digitisation of a unique historic image, and the copyright for it is most likely held by the person who created the image or the agency employing the person. It is believed that the use of this image may qualify as non-free use under the Copyright law of the United States. Owner: Israel Defense Forces (IDF). I (SlimVirgin) wrote to the IDF in 2005 to ask them to confirm that the image had been released, but they did not respond. Because the status of the image can't be confirmed, I'm claiming fair use.

Rationale for use in Abu Nidal[edit]

• No free licence version is available, and there is no way to obtain one.
• We have no reason to believe the Israeli government would object.
• The image is iconic and widely available.
• It has no monetary value that would be affected by our use of it.
• It is being used to illustrate an article about the subject.
• It significantly enhances the readers' appreciation of the subject and the article would be the poorer without it.
