| Description |
English: Aberdare station, as reopened. View westward of the station opened on 3/10/88 for a restored service from Cardiff via Pontypridd and Abercynon over the former Taff Vale line to Aberdare Low Level. It is roughly on the site of the former High Level station on the ex-GWR Vale of Neath line (Pontypool Road - Neath) which closed in 6/64 but remained for freight to Hirwaun and Tower Colliery. (See my Aberdare scenes from the 'old days'). |
