An English warship, the Buckingham under the command of Captain Richard Tyrrell near St. Eustatius, on 3 November 1758, attacked and claimed victory over the Florissant and two other French ships that accompanied a convoy of Dutch ships en route from St. Eustatius to St. Maarten.
