A "Tchorek plaque" in the park named after General Józef Sowiński - this plaque commemorates the mass murder of 1500 people who were killed here by the Germans during the Wola massacre. The bodies of 6000 victims of the massacre were also burned at this location. The SS press-ganged some of the surviving residents of Wola into the Verbrennungskommando ("burning detachment"), who were forced to burn the corpses and homes of the victims. The men put to work in this "detachment" were also later executed.
