English: Name: Haifa statue of the Holy Mary Description: The statue was given in 1894 as a gift from the Chilean government to the Stella Maris Monastery and the city of Haifa. The statue depicts the Virgin Mary holding the baby Jesus. עברית: שם: חיפה פסל מרים הקדושה תיאור: הפסל נמסר בשנת 1894 כמתנת ממשלת צ'ילה למנזר סטלה מאריס ולעיר חיפה. הפסל מתאר את מרים הבתולה מחזיקה את ישוע התינוק.הפסל נמצא ברחבה מול בסיס חיל הים.ליד מנזר סטלה מאריס. הערות: שמו של המנזר ושמה של השכונה בחיפה בה הוא שוכן - סטלה מאריס , הינו כוכב הים" בלטינית - הוא אחד מכינויה של מרים, אם ישו, שבהקשר זה מוצגת כמגוננת על יורדי ים, מלחים ודייגים. המסדר הכרמליתי נוסד על הר הכרמל לאחר מסע הצלב השלישי ב-1192, בידי נזירים שחיו במערות בנחל שיח בהשראת אליהו הנביא. המסדר שגשג והתרחב משם לרחבי אירופה.ב-1821 פוצץ עבדאללה פאשא, שליט עכו, את המבנה, והשתמש באבניו על מנת להקים לעצמו בית קיץ. ב-1826 החל האב קאסיני , חבר המנזר ואדריכל, לבנות את המנזר מחדש.הבניה הושלמה ב 1953-ויקיפדיה מיקום: רחוב סטלה מאריס 100 חיפה קובץ מקורי: 20230817_101704.jpg |
