Summary

Description
English: 7331 Germantown Ave., Philadelphia, PA, in the extension of the Colonial Germantown Historic District on the NRHP. The NRHP inventory states that it was built in 1792 by Joseph Miller. It is a 2.5 story, 5 rank stone house in the Federal style. It has a front portico with four columns. The windows have flat stone arches and wooden sills. . The roof is sidegabled with 2 gabled dormers and there is a dentil wood cornice. Josheph Gowan, of the Miller family got the house as part of Magnolia Villa in 1848 and started Mt. Airy agricultural School in it. The Lutheran Theological Seminary acquired it in 1912 and John Owens, the architect and contractor, built a one story addition to make the building a residence and dining hall for staff. Contractor W. H. Megarge built another addition in 1925. According to the inventory the building is considered Significant.
