Description
English: House on left - 5203 Germantown Ave., Philadelphia, PA. c. 1790, ground floor altered c. 1900, 2.5 stories, stucco on stone with wood trim, Colonial style. According to the NRHP inventory of Colonial Germantown Historic District, for all the above, is significant. PHMC marker in front identifies this as the birthplace of Owen Wister, pioneer author of Western adventures, including The Virginian.
